If we were destined to meet from the very beginning, I wonder—was a day like this predetermined just the same?
As I kept nursing thoughts that would never come true, we ended up hurting and blaming each other. Unable to offer any excuses, claiming I just loved you, I couldn’t even grab hold of your retreating hem. How weak I was.
No matter what kind of day today is, or what I may be doing, I will probably end up looking for you. With these thoughts I want to convey continuing to swell, I just want you to laugh off this unchanging me.
It’s a dull, flavorless landscape—wherever it may be—if you aren’t there. I’ve merely returned to how things were before we met, so why does everything feel so different?
Surely, we were like two metronomes side by side. Even though the tempos we ticked were once identical, before we knew it, they began to slip out of sync. As time passed, we drifted further apart, and I couldn’t stop it.
Where will we go from here? Can we go on living, forgetting everything? No matter how happy you are right now, I want you to remember—you are always inside me.
Passing each other by, we walk back-to-back, gradually fading from each other’s sight. If we keep living at the same tempo from here on out, I wonder if we will meet again someday on the other side of the Earth.
No matter what kind of day today is, or what I may be doing, I will probably end up loving you. With these thoughts I want to convey continuing to swell, I just want you to laugh off this unchanging me.
I just want you to be here.
