I wonder if I don’t quite fit into your daily life
Snow fell from the white sky
The sigh I breathed out—saying “it doesn’t matter”—
Lingered for a moment, then faded away, looking lonely
I wonder if it’s falling in your town, too
Ah, right here beside me…
I want it to be you who smiles and says the snow is beautiful
And you, looking happy as you say, “It’s cold, isn’t it?”
I want it to be you—
At the end of the hand I grabbed when you almost stumbled,
Saying “Thank you” and looking so happy
Before I knew it, the world around me was dyed mostly white
It makes me almost forget the messiness of things
I started to type a text saying, “It really piled up, didn’t it?”
But I left it unfinished and put my phone back in my pocket
I wish I could change into someone strong and kind
The kind of person who is truly loved
I want it to be you who smiles and says the snow is beautiful
But my heart aches at the answer I almost gave—
Not knowing how to hand it over, or where to throw it away…
I’m simply terrified
Of the view you’re seeing right now
Come to think of it, no matter what movie I watch,
No matter what novel I read or music I hear,
It’s always you I picture as the heroine
And the distant places I want to visit, the night skies I want to see—
It’s always you I imagine beside me
This town I thought I knew so well looks so different now
I’m such a fool
When white snow falls in your town,
Who is it that you want to see?
Who do you want to tell that the snow is beautiful?
As for me… well, I…
I want it to be you who smiles and says the snow is beautiful
And you, looking happy as you say, “It’s cold, isn’t it?”
I want it to be you—
At the end of the hand I grabbed when you almost stumbled,
Saying “Thank you” and looking so happy
I want it all to be you
